Q: What quality and industry standards can KBRwyle Metrology Services support?

A: We are ISO 9001 / AS9100 registered, and fully comply with the requirements of ISO 10012 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994. Some of our laboratories are accredited to ISO 17025 through the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).

Q: Will I be advised of repairs and charges beforehand?

A: Yes. If we determine that your equipment needs to be repaired prior to being calibrated, we will provide a quote and let you decide if you want to proceed.

Q: How long will it take to get my equipment back?

A: Typically, our turnaround time is 7-10 business days. However, there can be extenuating circumstances that can affect this including:

  • Unfamiliarity with a particular model (parts aren't always parts).
  • We may have to search out specifications and/or procedures. If it is an item that we have to outsource (this would be made known to you in the beginning) we would be at the mercy of our supplier - usually the OEM.
  • Lab backlog. While we make every effort to take advantage of all the labs in our network, some items may require standards not available at all locations.

Q: Do you offer a priority service?

A: We can bump an item to "Next On Bench" status upon request. There may be additional charges associated with this service. Additional charge would be communicated to you upon your request for priority service.

Q: Do you have a standard price list?

A: We have standard pricing for items that we are familiar with. The prices can be seen on this website. Typically these prices are based on product categories (micrometers, 3 ½ digit multimeters, etc.

Q: Where do I send my equipment?

A: You will be informed of the preferred location. We try to utilize a lab closest to you but sometimes backlog or capability may require you to send the equipment to another site.

Q: I have a list of equipment I'd like for you to quote. Do you have a preferred format?

A: Please provide CSV text or an Excel Spreadsheet. Please include the following information:

  • Manufacturer, Model and Description.
  • If you have the item's calibration interval, please provide that as well.

Q: We need calibration certificates that are traceable to National Standards, Can you provide this?

A: All of our calibrations are traceable to the national standards relevant to the country to where the calibration was performed. Presently we have labs in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Q: What National Standard are you traceable to?

A: We presently have labs in three countries; Canada, The United Kingdom and the United States. Each country has its own "National Standard":

  • In Canada, this would be the National Research Council Canada (NRC).
  • In The United Kingdom it is called the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
  • In the United States it is the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
  • Q: Can you provide onsite support and calibration?

Q: What is your warranty policy?

A: We certify that all equipment meets operational specifications at the time of shipment. Due to the nature of a calibration, once that item is out of the controlled lab environment, we cannot guarantee that outside influences won't physically alter the item, resulting in degraded performance.

Q: What geographical areas do you support?

Q: I lost my calibration certificate. How do I get a replacement?

A: Contact one of our representatives at metrology@honeywell.com, provide the unit serial number, and we will email you a copy.

Q: Do you pick-up and deliver?

A: Contact us at metrology@honeywell.com / 1-800-303-9651. If you are within a 10 mile radius of one of our labs, we can usually arrange to provide you with this service. We would need to discuss this at the time of quotation, as there could be additional charges associated with the service.

Q: What are your billing terms?

A: Net 30 days.

Q: Who do I contact for any general questions?

Q: Do you provide data?

A: We can provide you with "As Left" or "As Found/As Left" data for an additional charge. This charge varies some but is typically an additional 10% of the calibration charge.

Q: What type of calibrations do you provide?

A: The KBRwyle metrology program performs world-class standards calibration in the following measurement disciplines: temperature (thermometers and thermocouples), pressure, force, mass, weight (balances and scales), voltage, and resistance.
