Scientific Computing Support

KBRwyle provides a variety of scientific programming, algorithmic development, and high performance computing services for NOAA, the National Weather Service, and NASA.

Examples of KBRwyle’s work includes:

  • Developing, testing and deploying upgrades to NOAA’s Next Generation Weather Radar (NEXRAD) network which provides early warning and tracking of tornadoes, major storms, and other potentially destructive weather events
  • Developing global forecast systems for the National Weather Service’s (NWS) Climate Prediction Center (CPC)
  • Developing visualization applications for the NWS’ Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS)
  • Developing advanced atmospheric and oceanic dynamics research systems and models for the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL)

KBRwyle’s extensive experience also includes supporting testbed/parallel and Pay For Service (PFS) High Performance Computing systems as Glenn Research Center and providing an array of computer, network and web application support services to the Aviation Digital Data Service (ADDS) at the Aviation Weather Center.

As part of KBRwyle’s work on the largest Earth science support contract in NASA, it provides Earth and space science as well as IT support and services. KBRwyle’s support encompasses the development and use of scientific computer systems, engineering data analysis systems, and engineering efforts that develop new technologies for scientific instrumentation.
